UV Dye & Lubrication Injection

A/C UV dye tracing, lubricant injection and future leak visibility

UV Dye & Lubrication Injection

UV dye and lubrication injection is an add-on treatment used during aircon servicing, recharge or diagnostics. The UV dye circulates through the A/C system so small leaks can be traced later using a UV inspection lamp. The lubricant supports the compressor and internal moving parts while the system runs.

This is useful when a leak is suspected but not obvious, or when you want better visibility if the system loses refrigerant again in the future.

Best used for

✓  Slow or hidden refrigerant leaks.

✓  Vehicles that lose cooling over time.

✓  Post-repair monitoring.

  Aircon systems being recharged.

  When moisture ingress is suspected

  Future leak tracing and inspection.

What is UV dye and lubrication?

UV dye is a fluorescent tracing fluid added into the air conditioning system. Once circulating, it travels with the refrigerant and lubricant. If a small leak occurs, dye can escape at the leak point and become visible under a UV inspection lamp.

Lubrication is added to help support the compressor and moving components inside the A/C system. Refrigerant does the cooling work, but the compressor also relies on lubricant to help reduce wear and support smooth operation.

UV Dye Tracing

A clean filter helps air move through the vents properly.

Lubrication Support

Helps reduce dust, pollen and debris entering the cabin.

Better Diagnostics

Useful when a leak is too small to find immediately but may show after system use.

UV dye does not fix a leak. It helps find leaks. If dye appears at a component, the leaking part still needs repair or replacement.

How we add UV dye and lubricant -

Initial system check

We check pressure, current system condition and whether dye/lubrication is suitable for the service being carried out.

Prepare during service or recharge

UV dye and lubricant are usually added during an A/C recharge, recovery/vacuum process or service visit.

Inject dye and lubricant

The correct additive is injected and is run so the dye and lubricant circulate through the compressor, pipes, condenser, evaporator and seals.

Initial UV inspection

Where possible, visible areas are checked under UV light for obvious signs of leakage.

Future leak tracing

If the vehicle loses cooling later, the system can be inspected under UV light to trace where dye has escaped.
