Pollen Filter Cleaning & Replacement

Cabin pollen filter cleaning, replacement and airflow improvement

Pollen Filter Cleaning & Replacement

Your cabin pollen filter sits in the vehicle’s ventilation system and catches dust, pollen, debris and airborne particles before air enters the cabin. When it becomes dirty or blocked, airflow drops and smells can build up and your aircon has to work harder.

We inspect, clean or replace the cabin filter depending on its condition, then check airflow and cabin air quality so the ventilation system can breathe properly again.

Symptoms of a dirty pollen filter

What is a cabin pollen filter?

The cabin pollen filter, also called a cabin air filter, filters the air that enters the vehicle interior through the heater and air conditioning system. It catches dust, pollen, leaves, road debris and other fine particles.

A blocked filter can restrict airflow, make the fan work harder, reduce demisting performance and allow odours to sit inside the ventilation system.

Better Airflow

A clean filter helps air move through the vents properly.

Cleaner Cabin Air

Helps reduce dust, pollen and debris entering the cabin.

Less Stale Smell

Dirty filters can hold moisture, dust and odors inside the ventilation system.

A cabin filter clean can help if the filter is dusty but still usable. If it is damp, collapsed, black, mouldy, damaged or heavily blocked, replacement is the better option.

What we do on site -

Locate filter housing

We locate the pollen filter housing, usually behind the glovebox, under the scuttle panel or near the footwell depending on vehicle design.

Remove and inspect filter

The existing filter is removed and checked for dust, debris, dampness, mould, collapse or restricted airflow.

Clean or replace

If the filter is reusable, we clean it and remove loose debris. If it is heavily contaminated or damaged, we replace it.

Check housing and airflow path

We check the filter housing for loose debris and obvious blockage before refitting.

Refit and airflow check

The filter is refitted correctly in the airflow direction and the ventilation system is checked afterwards.
